EPR 3.0 with even more functions for the analysis of file and folder permissions

The latest version 3.0 of Enterprise Permission Reporter (EPR) offers numerous new functions for performing the analysis of file system environments with regard to their file and folder permissions even easier and faster. Besides the extension of this functionality, EPR 3.0 also features a new graphic user interface based on the look & feel of Windows 7.

Whereas to date only one-off authorization reports were possible almost as a snap-shot in time, version 3.0 provides the option of performing a comparison between the last report and the one currently in progress. Thanks to the new Delta report, users can see the changes at a glance. .

As in previous versions, even complex file systems and folder structures are analyzed at the touch of a button at any time on an ad-hoc basis or automatically on a time-controlled basis, and the access permissions saved in Excel-friendly XML reports (readable with any modern browser). What is more, the report data can be stored as data or in SQL databases. Thanks to the e-mail functionality, the reports can be sent automatically to different addressees.

Top UK University Selects Mailscape For Exchange Management

The University's IT team selected Mailscape after researching an extensive list of exchange monitoring solutions.  Having recently migrated to Exchange 2010 (from Exchange 2003), the University's IT team quickly found themselves managing a much more complex environment and wanted to take proactive measures to monitor the new environment.

Steve Kilburn, Infrastructure Consultant for Leeds MET, explains, "Having made our way through a list of monitoring solutions and evaluating several products, only Mailscape ticked all the boxes.  It was unique in its breadth of coverage across monitoring and reporting, and is a complete packaged solution".

As a small team managing the ever increasing demands of IT within the University, Steve has rolled out the Mailscape dashboard to each member of the core IT team who use it daily to monitor Exchange, troubleshoot any issues, and take any preventative actions when needed.

Leeds MET uses Mailscape's rich exchange reporting tools to present high level information to Management, and to help the IT team manage and enhance the messaging service.

Going forward, Leeds MET is planning to take advantage of Mailscape's customized dashboard for their Helpdesk team to proactively manage mailbox quotas, a task that was difficult to handle before using Mailscape.

Read the full case study here. Used by Exchange administrators in over 33 countries, Mailscape is an innovative systems management tool that combines all the key elements for Exchange reporting and monitoring in a single solution. Mailscape has received numerous awards including being named the Best Exchange Reporting Tool of the MSExchange.org's Readers' Choice Awards.
